The Imo State Police Command has apprehended three individuals suspected of being members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN). During an operation conducted on Saturday in Nguru Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, police recovered a substantial cache of weapons, including two general-purpose machine guns, an AK-47 assault rifle, a pump-action shotgun, and over 3,115 rounds of ammunition, along with surveillance drones and Biafra currency. The operation was executed based on intelligence gathered from the confession of a high-ranking IPOB/ESN commander, leading to the arrest of the suspects, who are now in custody and providing information about the group's logistics and planned activities. The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, praised the operatives for their professionalism and noted that the seizure has significantly disrupted the operational capabilities of the IPOB/ESN in the southeastern region.
