The Nigeria-South Africa Chamber of Commerce (NSACC) has issued a statement urging calm and dialogue in light of recent xenophobic unrest in South Africa. Dr. Ije Jidenma, the Chairman of NSACC, expressed concern over the impact of the unrest on communities, businesses, and livelihoods, particularly affecting Nigerians and other African nationals residing in South Africa. The Federal Government of Nigeria is actively engaging in diplomatic efforts, investigations, and voluntary evacuations to address the situation. Jidenma emphasized the importance of maintaining strong economic and cultural ties between the two nations and called for collaborative efforts among governments, community leaders, and civil society to ensure the safety and protection of all residents while promoting peace and stability.
