A military air strike targeting the Tumfa market in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State resulted in the deaths of at least 72 individuals, according to reports. Community leader Garba Ibrahim Mashema informed AFP that the impact of the strike was so severe that some victims' bodies were "blown beyond recognition." The incident occurred on a Sunday, and local sources indicated that determining the exact death toll remains challenging due to the chaotic aftermath. The market was reportedly under the control of bandits at the time of the attack.
