The prolonged absence of electricity for over 11 months has significantly disrupted socio-economic and business activities in the Kwali and Abaji communities of the Federal Capital Territory. The situation arose after suspected hoodlums vandalized high-tension cables along the Kwali-Abaji-Abuja-Lokoja highway in March. As a result, local businesses have struggled to operate effectively, leading to economic hardship for residents and entrepreneurs in the affected areas. The ongoing blackout has raised concerns about the long-term impact on the local economy and the livelihoods of those dependent on consistent power supply.
