On May 11, 2026, heavy rainfall accompanied by hail resulted in significant flooding and mudslides in the Ala-Buka District of Jalal-Abad Oblast, Kazakhstan. Earlier, on May 4, 2026, similar weather conditions led to mudflows from various streams into the Besh-Tash rural area of Talas District, impacting farmland, internal roads, and irrigation canals in the villages of Kozuchak, Arashan, and Kum-Aryk. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the local population. The government has not requested international assistance, and no information bulletin has been published regarding the incidents.
