The Republic of Moldova is set to conduct a Household Economic Capacity Assessment in April 2026, focusing on the socio-economic conditions of Ukrainian refugees. This assessment aims to gather updated data on income and expenditure patterns among households benefiting from Temporary Protection, which has been extended until March 2027. Previous assessments, including the Multi-Sectoral Needs Assessment and Socio-Economic Insights Surveys, have highlighted persistent vulnerabilities among these households, such as low income and reliance on external support. The findings from this new assessment will contribute to a better understanding of household resilience and economic capacity, and will also facilitate the calculation of the Multidimensional Poverty Index for the affected refugee population.
