Residents of Ifon Community in the Ose local government area of Ondo State have made a formal appeal to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for intervention in the ongoing kingship crisis that has persisted since the death of the former Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi. The late monarch was tragically killed by suspected gunmen on the Owo–Ifon Expressway in November 2020. The community is seeking resolution to the leadership vacuum and disputes that have arisen in the wake of his passing, which have led to significant unrest among the residents. The call for action aims to restore peace and stability in the community through a resolution of the kingship issue.
