Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, is embroiled in new allegations of systemic corruption, particularly concerning the management of the Students Industrial Work Scheme (SIWES). Reports indicate that Dr. Ferdinand Okoro, the Director of SIWES and a close associate of Rector Prof. Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, has allegedly implemented various illegal fees that have reportedly generated over ₦40 million annually from students. These fees include charges for I.T forms, registration, and logbooks, as well as payments for non-existent Industrial Training placements. Despite internal complaints and evidence of financial misconduct, Dr. Okoro remains in his position, raising concerns about accountability and the potential for conflict of interest within the institution's leadership.
