Mudashiru Obasa, the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has officially announced his candidacy for the Agege Federal Constituency seat in the upcoming 2027 elections. A seasoned lawmaker, Obasa has represented Agege Constituency I since 2003 and is currently in his sixth term. During a stakeholders’ meeting held in Agege, he attributed his decision to run to extensive consultations with party leaders and constituents, who encouraged him to seek a position in the federal legislature. He emphasized the importance of unity among All Progressives Congress (APC) members as they approach the primary elections and expressed his support for fellow party members Ganiyu Egunjobi and Azeez Ninolowo, urging the community to back candidates who demonstrate dedication and a deep understanding of local challenges.
