French authorities have placed 1,700 individuals, including passengers and crew, under confinement on a cruise ship docked in Bordeaux due to a suspected norovirus outbreak. The situation arose after a passenger's death and approximately 50 reported cases of gastrointestinal illness. The Ambassador Cruise Line confirmed that the vessel is carrying 1,187 guests, the majority of whom are affected by the illness. Health officials are currently investigating the outbreak and monitoring the health of those on board.
