An American citizen has tested positive for hantavirus after disembarking from a cruise ship that has been linked to a recent outbreak. The individual was subsequently flown to Nebraska for medical care. In addition to the American, a French woman has also tested positive for the virus, while health authorities in Spain reported a provisional positive case involving a Spanish national, who is currently asymptomatic. As a precautionary measure, countries worldwide are working to repatriate passengers from the affected cruise ship and implement quarantine or isolation protocols for those exposed.
