The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Abdullahi, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, over allegations of a N500 billion fraud. Abdullahi was appointed to his position by President Bola Tinubu in October 2023, following a decade of service at the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). Sources indicate that his arrest took place in Abuja, and he is currently in the custody of the EFCC as investigations continue.
