A fish seller and two women have been apprehended by the Kano State Hisbah Board for allegedly engaging in immoral conduct by renting out rooms in their apartment for prostitution. The arrests took place at a residential estate in Kano state, north-west Nigeria. The Hisbah Board, which functions as a religious police force, was established by the state government to enforce Shari’a law and promote moral conduct within the community. The individuals are currently in custody as investigations continue into the matter.
