A Federal High Court in Effurun, Delta State, has mandated social media personality VeryDarkMan to pay ₦30 million in damages for defaming Mrs. Esinjemiyotan Uruneyonjuyei Atsepoyi, the wife of comedian Mr. Jollof. The case stemmed from allegations made by VeryDarkMan in September 2024, where he accused Mrs. Atsepoyi of engaging in extramarital affairs to assist her husband in obtaining a political position. Following these claims, Mrs. Atsepoyi filed a defamation lawsuit seeking ₦500 million in damages. In the ruling delivered by Hon. Justice R. Harriman, the court found the statements to be defamatory and ordered VeryDarkMan to issue a public apology in two national newspapers and on his social media platforms within 14 days, in addition to the financial compensation.
