The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has disqualified over 105 aspirants from its ticket for the Kwara State House of Assembly in preparation for the 2027 general elections. Following a screening exercise, only 53 of the 158 aspirants who submitted nomination forms were approved to advance in the selection process. Among those disqualified were several incumbent lawmakers, including Hon. Ganiyu Folabi Salahu and Hon. Owolabi Olatunde Rasaq, while most incumbents in the Kwara Central Senatorial District were cleared, except for Hon. Ayishat Tundun Alanamu. The screening committee, led by Prof. Success Musa, noted the high number of aspirants as indicative of the party's increasing popularity in the state, although the outcome has raised concerns among some current lawmakers and their supporters regarding their re-election prospects.
