Wike-led PDP begins screening of presidential, guber, n’assembly hopefuls

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction supported by Nyesom Wike has initiated the screening process for presidential, governorship, and national assembly candidates in preparation for the 2027 general elections. The screening is being overseen by the national working committee led by Abdulrahman Mohammed, with specific sessions scheduled for governorship and presidential aspirants at the party's national secretariat in Abuja. Notable figures involved in the screening committees include Okezie Ikpeazu, who chairs the presidential committee, and Ahmed Makarfi, who leads the governorship committee. Additionally, several aspirants, including Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Kogi East aspirant Muhammed Abdullahi, have reported successful completion of their screening, while the party also screened 45 aspirants in Cross River state for various legislative positions.
