The International Organization for Migration has reported that the ongoing escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, now in its tenth week, is exacerbating a humanitarian crisis that affects multiple regions, including Iran, Afghanistan, and Lebanon. In Iran, over 149,000 civilian infrastructures have been destroyed, severely impacting living conditions for an estimated 400,000 individuals whose homes have been damaged. While large-scale cross-border displacement has not been observed, there is a notable increase in temporary internal relocations and outward migration interest among vulnerable populations due to housing damage and livelihood loss. In Lebanon, a fragile ceasefire has led to a temporary stabilization of population movements, although many households face ongoing insecurity and infrastructure challenges that hinder their return home. The situation remains fluid, with continued monitoring and operational readiness essential as the humanitarian consequences of the conflict persist.
