A coalition of northern youth associations, known as the Joint Action Committee of Northern Youth Associations (JACON), has criticized the governors of the 19 northern states for not implementing a proposed minimum wage of N150,000 for workers. The group claims that this refusal is exacerbating poverty and hindering development in the region, despite the fact that allocations from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) have increased. JACON's statements highlight concerns regarding the economic conditions faced by workers in the north and call for immediate action from the state governors.
