Moderate to heavy rainfall from May 10 to 13, 2026, has led to significant flooding in Dotic Village, Manufahi Municipality, and affected areas in Lautem, Viqueque, and Covalima municipalities in Timor-Leste. The overflowing Weberek River prompted the Timor-Leste Red Cross (CVTL) to activate its Early Action Protocol to mitigate the flooding's impact, with ongoing rainfall expected to increase the number of evacuations. As part of the response, CVTL deployed a team to manage evacuation centers, distribute shelter equipment, and provide meals to affected families. Coordination efforts are underway with local authorities and community leaders to ensure the safety and well-being of evacuees while monitoring the situation closely for further developments.
