The ECOWAS Parliament has officially adopted a significant resolution aimed at addressing the plight of street children in West Africa. This resolution, which calls for immediate and coordinated efforts by member states to safeguard these vulnerable children and eliminate their exploitation, was passed during the Parliament's First Ordinary Session of 2026 held in Abuja on Thursday. The decision is based on recommendations from a delocalised meeting of the Joint Committee on Social Affairs and Gender, highlighting the urgent need for protective measures and policies in the region.
