The project is spearheaded by a company that initially focused on the conservation of the Main Hall of the Hongluo Temple, a significant Buddhist site in northern Beijing. Cheng, who oversees the masonry work, began his journey in ancient architecture during this initial project. He has since sought mentorship from Piao Xuelin, a 15th-generation descendant of the renowned Xinglongmen masonry tradition, further enriching his expertise in the field.
