The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has brought social media influencer Blessing CEO, also known as Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on charges of fraud amounting to N36 million. During the arraignment before Justice D.I. Dipeolu, the defense attorney, P.I. Nwafor, informed the court that part of the alleged amount, specifically N24 million, had been refunded to the complainant. However, the prosecuting counsel, S.I. Suleiman, emphasized that the EFCC is not involved in any private settlement discussions, as the case is a matter of public interest with the Federal Government as the complainant. Justice Dipeolu ruled that discussions between the defendant and the complainant would not influence the ongoing criminal proceedings and subsequently ordered Blessing CEO to be remanded in EFCC custody, with the trial set to commence on June 5, 2026.
