The World Food Programme (WFP) has outlined its ongoing initiatives in Armenia, highlighting the need for USD 2.75 million over the next six months to bolster efforts against food insecurity and malnutrition. The organization continues to collaborate with the Armenian government and various partners to enhance the country's emergency preparedness and response capabilities, particularly in anticipation of potential humanitarian challenges such as a refugee influx. Additionally, WFP is advancing school-based agriculture and resilience systems by providing schools with necessary production and storage infrastructure, alongside investments in solar energy to support school feeding programs. Recent findings from the 2026 Food Security and Vulnerability Assessment indicate a positive trend, showing a reduction in food insecurity from 20 percent to 17 percent, as well as a decrease in marginally food secure households from 54 percent to 49 percent.
