The Gaza Strip is currently facing significant challenges in its reconstruction efforts following over two years of conflict between Hamas and Israel, which has resulted in approximately 57 million tonnes of debris littering the area. With around 75% of the region's infrastructure reported as destroyed, various reconstruction strategies are being explored to address the extensive damage. Among these proposals is the innovative concept of creating 'islands' from the rubble, which aims to transform the landscape while providing new opportunities for development and habitation. These plans highlight the urgent need for effective rebuilding initiatives in the enclave.
