Federal health officials have confirmed that there are currently no reported cases of hantavirus in the United States associated with a recent outbreak linked to a cruise ship. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on Thursday that they are actively monitoring 41 individuals across the country who may have been exposed to the virus. This group includes 16 individuals who were not previously accounted for in the agency's assessments. The CDC continues to provide updates and guidance regarding the situation as it develops.
