The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed concern regarding the aggressive marketing strategies employed for nicotine pouches, particularly targeting young people. Retail sales of these products surged to over 23 billion units in 2024, representing an increase of more than 50 percent compared to the previous year. This significant rise in sales has prompted the WHO to call for urgent action to address the potential health risks associated with the rising popularity of nicotine pouches among youth.
