The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has highlighted a critical issue regarding maternal health in Nigeria, indicating that a woman dies every seven minutes due to complications during childbirth. This alarming statistic was shared by Francis Busiku Butichi, the Chief of the Maiduguri Field Office, during an event on Friday where WASHFIT supplies were handed over to health facilities in Borno State. The organization continues to emphasize the urgent need for improved healthcare services and interventions to address the rising maternal mortality rate in the country.
