The payout process for individuals who submitted claims in a $500 million class-action lawsuit regarding alleged price-fixing in the bread industry has commenced. This settlement, finalized in July 2024, mandates that Loblaw and George Weston Ltd. collectively pay $404 million to affected consumers. The remaining $96 million of the settlement is allocated for other related expenses and claims. Eligible claimants are now receiving payments directly into their Canadian bank accounts as part of the resolution of this case.
