A coalition of support groups within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has staged a protest against the disqualification of Tein Jack-Rich from the Rivers West Senatorial race, ahead of the party's primaries for the 2027 general elections. In a statement released in Abuja, the Conference of APC Support Groups criticized the party's screening committee for what they termed an unjust decision that could exacerbate internal divisions within the APC in Rivers State. The coalition, led by National Coordinator Dr. Bilal Galadima and General Secretary Hon. James Ogenyi, accused the party leadership of favoring candidates loyal to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, while sidelining long-standing APC members. They specifically highlighted Jack-Rich's loyalty to the party over the past 13 years and questioned the clearance of Felix Obua, whom they described as a recent party entrant and Wike ally, warning that failure to address these grievances could undermine the party's structure in the state as the 2027 elections approach.
