Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has ordered the immediate suspension of the Unified Business Identification Card scheme, which involved the production and distribution of these cards throughout the state. This decision was communicated in a statement released on Friday by Babayo Liman, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Internal Security. The suspension was prompted by allegations of extortion linked to the issuance of the identification cards, necessitating a review of the program to address these concerns.
