APC Declares Amaewhule, Others Winners of Rivers Reps Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the results of its primary elections for the House of Representatives in Rivers State, confirming the candidates for all 12 federal constituencies. Martin Amaewhule, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, secured the nomination for the Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency 1 with 17,968 votes, having been the sole aspirant. The results were disclosed on Saturday night at the APC State Secretariat in Port Harcourt by Wahab Owokoniran, the Chairman of the State APC House of Representatives Primary Election Committee. Other candidates who emerged victorious include Igwe Precious for Port Harcourt Federal Constituency, Felix Nweke for Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo Federal Constituency, Dumnamene Dekor for Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency, and Cyril Hart for Degema-Bonny Federal Constituency, among others. The declaration was attended by Dr. Johnson Sinikiem, the Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, along with other officials from the electoral body, as the party prepares for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
