The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared an international emergency following the deaths of over 80 individuals due to an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Concerns regarding the potential spread of the virus intensified after a laboratory confirmed a case in Goma, a significant city in eastern DRC that is currently under the control of the Rwanda-backed M23 militia. The declaration aims to mobilize global resources and support to contain the outbreak and prevent further transmission of the disease.
