The World Health Organisation has officially classified the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda as a public health emergency of international concern. This declaration follows the reporting of over 300 suspected cases and 88 fatalities linked to the virus in the affected regions. In response to the situation, Nigeria's National Centre for Disease Control has confirmed that there are currently no reported cases within the country and has heightened surveillance measures at all ports of entry to prevent potential transmission.
