Humanitarian partners are intensifying their response efforts in Chuuk State following the impact of Typhoon Sinlaku, which affected the Federated States of Micronesia from April 9 to 12, 2026. The Government of FSM released the Initial Damage Assessment results on May 5, which can be accessed through the Department of Environment, Climate Change & Emergency Management's website. A Joint Damage Assessment has been completed to facilitate the unlocking of recovery funds under the Compact of Free Association agreement with the US government.
