Tragedy unfolded in Enugu State as three women were brutally murdered in two separate incidents over the weekend in Igbo-Etiti Local Council. The first incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in Ukehe, where 40-year-old Anikwe Onyebuchi allegedly killed his 60-year-old mother, Felicia Anikwe, following a dispute over food. Eyewitnesses reported that a video circulating on social media depicted the victim's body in a pool of blood, prompting an angry mob to confront the suspect before police intervened. In a separate attack at Agu-Ekwegbe community, Joshua Eze allegedly murdered his sister, Nwabuche Eze, and her daughter, Favour Eze, with their bodies later found in a shallow grave, raising concerns about potential ritualistic elements. The Nigeria Police Force confirmed the recovery of Felicia Anikwe's remains for autopsy and reported that both suspects were attacked by mobs before being taken to the hospital for treatment. The Commissioner of Police, Mamman Giwa, condemned the incidents and called for a thorough investigation while urging the public to refrain from vigilante justice.
