A recent Public Health Situation Analysis conducted by the Health Cluster and the World Health Organization has highlighted the worsening humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly in Gaza, six months after a ceasefire was announced. As of early May 2026, Israeli military operations have reportedly resulted in the deaths of 824 Palestinians since the ceasefire, with ongoing military activity exacerbating the already dire conditions. The healthcare system in Gaza is on the brink of collapse, with 94% of hospitals either destroyed or damaged, and nearly half of essential medicines at zero stock, severely limiting medical treatment capabilities. Additionally, the situation in the West Bank remains critical, with significant casualties reported and ongoing military operations contributing to heightened humanitarian concerns, particularly affecting access to essential services and livelihoods.
