The United States government has initiated the deployment of wireless internet infrastructure in Nigeria, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ghana, as part of an effort to enhance connectivity in off-grid communities across West Africa. This announcement was made by the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) in a statement released on Tuesday. The initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and improve access to information and communication technologies in these regions.
