Graeme McDowell, a former champion of the US Open, has successfully qualified for this year's tournament at Shinnecock Hills by securing one of the last nine qualification spots. The Northern Irish golfer achieved this by completing a 36-hole qualifier in Dallas, where he recorded two rounds of 69. This upcoming event marks McDowell's return to major championship play, as it will be his first since the expiration of his 10-year exemption earned from winning the US Open.
