FAAN Promises Enhanced Ebola Preparedness at Airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has announced the implementation of enhanced preventive measures across all international airports in response to the recent Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in Central Africa. In a statement released by Henry Agbebire, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, FAAN emphasized its collaboration with Port Health Services and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention to intensify passenger surveillance, particularly for those arriving from high-risk areas. Passengers will undergo screening for Ebola symptoms, with any suspected cases to be isolated and subjected to further health checks according to established protocols. FAAN reassured the public that, while there are no confirmed cases of Ebola in Nigeria, it remains vigilant in safeguarding public health and ensuring safe airport operations.
