Two-Storey Building Collapses in Anambra Community

A two-storey building under construction collapsed in the Umuoma community of Umuoji, located in the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Monday evening. Eyewitness accounts indicate that over 20 construction workers were present on the second floor when the structure began to cave in, following loud cracking noises from the walls. Fortunately, all workers managed to escape without injury. The building, which was intended to be a three-storey hotel, has been deemed dangerous due to its slanting structure, prompting officials from the state Urban and Town Planning department to seal off the site for further investigation into the cause of the collapse and adherence to building regulations.
