The Minister of Interior, Olatunji Olubunmi-Ojo, announced that Nigeria has significantly improved its passport production capabilities, now generating 10,000 passports per hour. This advancement follows the establishment of a state-of-the-art centralised personalisation centre in Abuja, marking a historic milestone as the first such facility in the country since 1963. The Minister made this declaration during his address at the International Civil Service Conference 2026, highlighting the end of decades of delays in passport issuance.
