A recent Rapid Needs Assessment conducted by the REACH Initiative in Ancuabe District, Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, has highlighted critical humanitarian needs following a series of violent attacks from April 27 to 30, 2026. The assessment revealed that food assistance, emergency shelter support, and non-food items are immediate priorities for the approximately 3,950 individuals displaced from their homes due to the violence. Households are facing significant barriers to accessing basic goods and services, primarily due to financial constraints, disrupted livelihoods, and limited documentation. The situation remains precarious, with ongoing displacement and heightened protection risks, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children and pregnant women, necessitating close monitoring and support from humanitarian agencies.
