Mascot Uzor Kalu has officially announced his withdrawal from the governorship race of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State. In a statement, he cited two primary reasons for his decision: the need to allow other aspirants the chance to contest for the governorship position, given that his brother, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has secured the senatorial ticket, and a commitment to fairness and equity in the political landscape of the state. He emphasized the importance of allowing Abia Central to complete its eight-year power rotation. Kalu expressed gratitude to his family, campaign team, and supporters for their unwavering support during his candidacy.
