Power One of The Most Important Infrastructure, Says Gov Otti

Abia State Governor Alex Otti emphasized the significance of electricity supply in driving economic growth during a meeting with Jennifer Adighije, the Managing Director and CEO of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, at the Government House in Umuahia on Wednesday. Otti acknowledged the company's efforts in restoring operations at the 450MW Alaoji Open Circuit Power Plant, which had been out of service due to gas supply issues. He highlighted that the restoration, which has made approximately 375 megawatts available for transmission, is a critical step towards enhancing electricity supply in the state. Furthermore, Otti revealed that the state government has signed an agreement with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company to acquire electricity distribution assets, and is also investing in renewable energy and mini-grid projects to ensure stable power supply.
