Thirteen political parties participating in the upcoming governorship election in Ekiti State, scheduled for June 20, 2026, have formally signed a peace accord aimed at ensuring a violence-free electoral process. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Nigeria Police Force have both issued warnings against any form of violence during the election period. The peace pact is intended to promote a conducive environment for the election and to encourage all parties to adhere to democratic principles.
