Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) participating in the European Union Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria Phase Two (EU-SDGN II) programme have reported that the level of election preparedness by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 16 local government areas (LGAs) of Ekiti State is alarmingly low, assessed at only 34% as of April 14, 2026. The CSOs expressed significant concerns regarding the implications of this lack of readiness for the upcoming governorship election. They highlighted the necessity for immediate action to address the deficiencies identified in the electoral process to ensure a credible and transparent election.
