Incumbent President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is among the prominent figures in the race. Other notable aspirants include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and former President Goodluck Jonathan, who has received a waiver from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be their sole candidate. However, Jonathan has not yet publicly confirmed his candidacy.
