Joey Chestnut, known as "Jaws," is set to defend his title at the Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4, despite being on probation following a guilty plea to a misdemeanor battery charge. The competitive eater, who has won the contest 17 times, was charged after an incident in which he allegedly slapped a man during an outing in Indiana. Chestnut's participation in the annual event, a highly anticipated spectacle, will proceed as he fulfills the terms of his probation.
