The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has officially launched its 2026 National Preparedness and Response Campaign on Flood Disaster and Related Hazards in Zamfara State. During a stakeholders’ engagement held in Gusau, the agency highlighted that 23 states, along with the Federal Capital Territory, are at a heightened risk of flooding during the upcoming rainy season. The campaign aims to enhance awareness and preparedness among communities to mitigate the impacts of potential flood disasters. NEMA emphasized the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders to ensure effective response strategies are in place.
