The Federal High Court in Abuja has declared the registration of eNaira Ltd as null and void, siding with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in a trademark dispute. The court found that the registration infringed on the CBN's rights regarding the eNaira digital currency. In addition to nullifying the registration, the court awarded damages amounting to N10 million to the CBN. This ruling reinforces the CBN's authority over the eNaira brand and its associated trademarks.
